An Open Letter to Bioware

Dear Bioware,

It took me a long time to really dive into the Mass Effect games.  To be honest, I played through one and two shortly before three came out and I loved every second of it.  I may have been one of the few people to accept the ending(s) of Mass Effect 3 despite a few lingering questions.  However, you have answered the mass amount of fans who were not happy with the ending(s) you provided and have graced us with updated content to give us fans closure.  This is what I have to say.

While many fans expected a whole lot more from the original ending of the game, they wanted more.  I, myself, had questions but I still understood what you were trying to convey.  With the updated content you released today those questions have been answered and I even discovered more details about the ending.

You are the first game publisher to give in to the demands of the players.  While that may have negative consequences for future games, you have delivered something amazing.  The new content answers questions that were initially left to the players imagination.  The new endings, give more closure than the original game and as an avid gamer I thank you.  I can now honestly say that I understand the ending more, appreciate it more, and respect your decisions.

There will be people who disagree with my thoughts, there will even be those who think the new content is BS because you can’t make everyone happy. However, after spending so much time guiding my character and the characters around me, I feel like this content brought everything to a close.

Bravo Bioware!  You have done something that many companies would not do. You have expanded on a decent ending and have made it even better.  I can not wait to see what you have coming to us next.

Sincerely,

Jesse – Unyielding Geekery
