The new Dark Souls II trailer is here

Ready to die again?! I know I am. The graphics are visually stunning and it appears there are new ways on how you can get your ass kicked, because I didn’t get enough of a beat down with the first game.

So for all you masochist’s the game is already released on PS3 and Xbox 360. April 25th it’ll be available for Steam/PC. If you’re that anxious and impatient you could always pick up a copy for the console to hold you over for the next 6 weeks.

Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Editions

With the new release of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remastered (for Playstation 3 and Vita only) nearing for March 18th Square Enix is giving us the option for limited edition goodies. There are two versions, the collector’s edition and limited edition. Basically, it’s just a fancy way of saying one version is more expensive with added merchandise than the other. There is one thing that is a bit disappointing, Vita only has the standard game and X-2 is only downloadable. I feel as if there isn’t enough love for the PS Vita. The up side is with a pre-order you do get free art cards.

Here is the PS Vita edition. Que in sad trombone.

The Ps3 collector’s edition, it includes.

  • Full size art book packaging, featuring over 40 pages of imagery from the beautiful world of Spira.
  • Final Fantasy X HD Remaster Original Soundtrack Disc Music, imported directly from Japan. Over 100 tracks and six hours of music; MP3 download included.
  • Five lithographs of iconic artwork and characters.

The limited edition, which you can choose for no additional cost with the pre-order includes.

  • Featuring an elegant collection of concept art and commentary from the original Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X-2 development teams.
  • Limited edition artbook packaging requires pre-order of Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster for Playstation 3.

Depending on your nostalgia and finances you get to pick between total fandom or I just want the game, but free stuff is nice fandom. Personally I’m going to be getting the collector’s edition, being that I’m a total sucker for original sound tracks. Going to be playing To Zanarkand on repeat as loud as possible until I get various noise complaints.

And we’re back

Unyielding Geekery is finally revitalized, like the protagonist who falls into an abyss of misfortune and misery, only to return a new! Someone please que in a Final Fantasy VII reference.

Let me address a few things. I had to leave the site due to moving out of state and starting college. I know everyone else is busy with work and school as well, as of now I will be the only one updating the site. I hope to build a new foundation of bloggers and get Unyielding Geekery back on it’s feet.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 OST Surprisingly Good

You have to give credit to Masashi Hamauzu for stepping up and really delivering the music Final Fantasy deserves. He had some big shoes to fill, Nobuo Uematsu is not any easy composer to replace. It was a shock to hear that after nearly 20 years Nobuo Uematsu decided his time was done.

Masashi Hamauzu was first hired on to assist Nobuo Uematsu with the score for Final Fantasy X.  He was lead composer for Final Fantasy XIII’s soundtrack. Masashi was also the main composer for Dirge of Cerberus , which was performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. As of January 20, 2010, he has left Square Enix. What a short lived but phenomenal career. Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 are among my new favorite gaming soundtracks. Continue reading

Whatever Happened To Final Fantasy Versus XIII

The first announcement and teaser came early 2006, since then there has been only silence. Leaving fans in complete darkness with anticipation and skeptical theories. Over the years I have been one of those faithful Square Enix fans to slowly lose my loyalty and faith within the company to actually go through with what they claim. I feel foolish, oddly betrayed to believe these trailers meant for something greater. This was going to be the first Final Fantasy that was really getting my blood pumping in a long time. Since Final Fantasy X I have felt a lack of passion and will to push themselves even harder to make a great game. Continue reading

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt Limited Edition DVD Release

Gainax created another great anime full of crude, vulgar humor, paying homage to North American cartoons with a good dose of perversion. The anarchy sisters consist of Panty, a sexy, fun loving girl with a one track mind for sex and the adorable Stocking, a cute goth girl who indulges her sweet tooth. These two angels who were kicked out of heaven for bad behavior are now having to battle ghosts to collect enough “heaven coins” in order to be granted Continue reading
