Final Fantasy XIII-2 OST Surprisingly Good

You have to give credit to Masashi Hamauzu for stepping up and really delivering the music Final Fantasy deserves. He had some big shoes to fill, Nobuo Uematsu is not any easy composer to replace. It was a shock to hear that after nearly 20 years Nobuo Uematsu decided his time was done.

Masashi Hamauzu was first hired on to assist Nobuo Uematsu with the score for Final Fantasy X.  He was lead composer for Final Fantasy XIII’s soundtrack. Masashi was also the main composer for Dirge of Cerberus , which was performed by the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra. As of January 20, 2010, he has left Square Enix. What a short lived but phenomenal career. Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2 are among my new favorite gaming soundtracks. Continue reading

Whatever Happened To Final Fantasy Versus XIII

The first announcement and teaser came early 2006, since then there has been only silence. Leaving fans in complete darkness with anticipation and skeptical theories. Over the years I have been one of those faithful Square Enix fans to slowly lose my loyalty and faith within the company to actually go through with what they claim. I feel foolish, oddly betrayed to believe these trailers meant for something greater. This was going to be the first Final Fantasy that was really getting my blood pumping in a long time. Since Final Fantasy X I have felt a lack of passion and will to push themselves even harder to make a great game. Continue reading

Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt Limited Edition DVD Release

Gainax created another great anime full of crude, vulgar humor, paying homage to North American cartoons with a good dose of perversion. The anarchy sisters consist of Panty, a sexy, fun loving girl with a one track mind for sex and the adorable Stocking, a cute goth girl who indulges her sweet tooth. These two angels who were kicked out of heaven for bad behavior are now having to battle ghosts to collect enough “heaven coins” in order to be granted Continue reading

New Sailor Moon Series Announced

In 1992 the original Sailor Moon series launching only a month after the first issue of the manga was published, the anime aired from March 1992 to February 1997. Two decades later Sailor Moon has gained globe popularity and is recognized for reviving the magical girl genre, creator Naoko Takeuchi slipped the news of a new Sailor Moon series, airing summer 2013.   Continue reading

Mass Effect 3′s Highly Demanded Extended Ending

If you listened to our latest podcast we did discuss Mass Effect 3, all agreeing on the sheer fact of anticipating even more nerd rage because this new extended ending yet will never satisfy the cries of thousands, if not millions who feel betrayed, ripped off, exploited and abandoned with the popular Bioware series coming to a close. Personally, I feel these out cries will never be soothed unless Shepard gets one last chance to embark on saving the universe in a continuing, Mass Effect 4. Highly doubtful, but perhaps tomorrow we all get the ending we want! Here’s a few notes I’ve added to what I would like to see happen in this extended ending. Continue reading

Exclusive Okami HD Release For PS3

One of the most beautiful, heart warming games I have luckily gotten the chance to play is coming to PSN, November 1st, 2012. Surprisingly, this game falls into the category of a cult classic due to poor sales. Why such low sales? Okami is rated 9 out of 10 on IGN. Could it be because the theme wasn’t surrounded by zombies or post apocalyptic survival? Perhaps, the style of the game was not mainstream enough with all of those regurgitated fps high ranked titles? Regardless the reasoning why this diamond in the rough hasn’t fully obtained the recognition I feel it deserves you can finally get a chance to experience Okami in HD. Mind you this is a Playstation exclusive! Be sure to have the PS Move since that is the only way to be able to control the celestial brush.

Can I just take a second and gush over how visually appealing this game is? The animated ink illustration, with watercolor and wood cut style environment. It really is nothing like any other game out on the market. So why isn’t Okami raising the bar for Capcoms competitors? With such a unique look, battle system, beautifully composed soundtrack and one of my favorite stories you would be absolutely crazy not to give this game a try.

Mistress Zelda The Metal Messiah of Cosplay Interview

When did you start cosplaying and what got you into it?
I started cosplaying in 2000 (over a decade ago, wow!) The first time I ever went to Comic Con was in 1999, with the intention of poking fun of the nerds there (I was in 9th or 10th grade at the time). I had so much fun there and fell in love with all the cosplayers that the next year I was back and in the Masquerade. I’ve been cosplaying nonstop ever since. But I always loved dressing up – Some of my Halloween costumes as a kid were Xena, Elvira, and Morticia Addams. Continue reading
