I have always been a .Hack fan. I watched .Hack//Sign and played through most of the original .Hack games. Lately I have been catching up on the anime series which made me think a few things. With all of the MMOs out there, why has no one tried to introduce some sort of hidden event like .Hack? WOW always has world, seasonal, and end game events…What if they decided to leave one little NPC to drive a hidden quest line that could tie in to reality? This type of event would be perfect for folks like me who want to play the game, but not spend every day doing daily quests or dungeons. If you don’t know what I’m talking about I urge you to look into the .Hack//Sign anime series. What do you think? Is this something that would be a game changer for all the MMORPGs out there?

There isn’t much to this post except for one thing. I’m watching Cartoon Network right now for my Saturday dose of Anime goodness. What do I see? OMG TOONAMI! Last time I wrote about this it was an April Fools joke, but this time it’s real. There is new anime, the same wonderful lead in/commecial content, and TOM. I believe this is in response to the April Fools joke so everyone watch and help keep it alive! Long Live Toonami!
*UPDATE* Cartoon Network’s site is updated to show the change!!!
Game companies know how to take my money…by offering an amazing collector’s set like Borderlands 2 and this new Street Fighter 25th Anniversary Collector’s Set. I have always loved the Street Fighter Franchise. I’ve enjoyed the games, the anime shows/movies, some of the comics, and even the live action movies no matter how bad they were. The announcement of this set and the stuff inside have me all sorts of excited. The set will be available for Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 18th, 2012 and will cost $149.99. Here is the awesomeness that comes inside the pretty snazzy box:
- Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix
- Street Fighter III Third Strike Online Edition
- Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition with all costume DLC
- Street Fighter X Tekken with all character and swap costume DLC
- An awesome 8″ tall light-up Ryu statue performing the Shoryuken
- Blu-Ray video set that includes a documentary, Street Fighter IV & Super Street Fighter IV Anime movies, the Street Fighter animated series, and the Street Fighter II Anime movie.
- 11 discs of Street fighter music from games, remixes, and fan music.
- 64 page art book
- Full size Ryu Martial Arts Belt
- Individually numbered certificate of authenticity
I can’t wait for this! Here are a few more pictures.
Turns out the rumors about a third season for Code Geass were sorely mistaken. Apparently the new up coming anime been converted into an OVA. August 4th, 2012 is the release date for theaters in Japan. The trailer gives little information on what to expect. Hopefully it’ll be worth watching and perhaps give us all some closure to the left open questionable ending from Lelouch of the Rebellion.
Set in Europe, far removed from where Lelouch is enacting his plans, the story revolves around the special division, W-0, led by the former Britannian Aristocrat, Lyala Malkal, and its pilot, the Japanese Akito Hyuga. I wonder what the story will be like.

I’ve been obsessing over picking up a LEGO set the past few weeks and this great Tachikoma build by Mahj came across my feeds. For those of you who don’t know the Tachikoma are walking/rolling spider-like tanks from the Ghost in the Shell anime and manga. In the show the tanks possess individual AI’s and support the team Section 9.
Mahj has done an incredible job recreating the look and even movement of the lovable tanks from the show as they both roll and will begin walking when the terrain calls for it.
Mahj currently has the Tachikoma listed on the LEGO CUUSOO site, which allows builders to post LEGO set ideas and those receiving 10,000 votes get official review for manufacture from LEGO themselves. The site is a total time sink as there are some truly amazing designs on display. If you love this Tachikoma or any of the other projects you see be sure to help builders out by signing up to vote.
Last night was an amazingly bittersweet event. Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim was taken over by Toonami. I remember the Saturday Nights I would stay up way to late watching anime like Gundam, Outlaw Star, Tenshi Muyo, and more. Tom even did a review for Mass Effect 3! My first reaction was, “OMG It’s back!” However, looking at the guide on my screen revealed it did not match what was actually being played. This is on par with their normal April Fools jokes like showing The Room. Sorry everyone, it was a one night only event. Check out the Mass Effect 3 review from Tom after the break. Continue reading
