.Hack Anime and Games

I have always been a .Hack fan.  I watched .Hack//Sign and played through most of the original .Hack games.  Lately I have been catching up on the anime series which made me think a few things.  With all of the MMOs out there, why has no one tried to introduce some sort of hidden event like .Hack?  WOW always has world, seasonal, and end game events…What if they decided to leave one little NPC to drive a hidden quest line that could tie in to reality?  This type of event would be perfect for folks like me who want to play the game, but not spend every day doing daily quests or dungeons.  If you don’t know what I’m talking about I urge you to look into the .Hack//Sign anime series.  What do you think?  Is this something that would be a game changer for all the MMORPGs out there?

Deadpool Game Announced at Comic Con

If you’ve listened to the podcast, you know that I wasn’t a huge comic book fan until recently.  Everything I knew about comic heroes and villains came from cartoons and maybe an occasional comic.  Deadpool is one of the characters I always thought was cool, but I never spent any time looking into.  Well, a new Deadpool game was announced this weekend and comic con and it makes me want to read up on the fellow.  Check out the trailer above and let us know what you think!

Extra Life Fundraiser

Last year, I participated in a charity event that benefited the Children’s Miracle Network.  The charity event I used was Extra Life.  They are taking donations for the event which consists of gamers around the world playing games for 24 hours straight.  Think of it like a marathon, but it’s playing games for 24 hours instead of running 26.6 miles.  I have signed up again for this charity and would love it if you would donate to the cause.  Any donations given to my link will be forwarded to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, PA.  If you like to support kids and enjoy 24 hour gaming marathons please click the link below to donate.  I may set up a live stream of my gaming for everyone to watch depending on people’s interest.  The 24 hour gaming event takes place on October 20th.

New Way to Earn Xbox Live Rewards from Achievements This Fall

I have been a member of Xbox Live since it was in the beta stages on the original Xbox.  Hence why my gamer tag is of an Anime character from the series Blue Seed.  I was watching that at the time because the series was first released in a DVD Box set.  So when the Microsoft came out with Xbox Live Rewards I signed up instantly.  Well, today Microsoft released a interesting little tidbit about an upcoming way you can earn more reward points.  Achievements!  Yes, to mark the achievement of @xboxliverewards gaining 50k followers they released this tease.

We’ve hit 50,000 followers, which means it’s time for an announcement! Coming Fall: a new way to earn Rewards based on your Achievements!

No details, just that.  It’s still an interesting thought…especially since I’m an achievement whore.

The Avengers will feature movie based costumes in upcoming MMO

Marvel has been releasing character renders for its upcoming MMO Marvel  Heroes for some time now. Recently the company has stated that the core Avengers team will included alternate costumes based off of their film appearances.

Marvel Heroes is an action RPG featuring heroes from all over the Marvel universe for you to play as. In the game the main villain has been stated to be Doctor Doom up to his usual shenanigans with the cosmic cube. Though Doom is the primary antagonist it has been indicated that villains and story lines from not only the comics but animated series and films will be mined for content. The game will follow a free-to-play model with I assume micro-transactions but whether this will be a downloadable client or browser-based game is unknown at this time.

Episode 11.5: Talking With Misti Dawn

I just had a wonderful conversation/interview with the spectacular Misti Dawn.  If you don’t know her, she is one of the most scandalinfamous geek/gamers you will ever know.  We had a wonderful time discussing games, zombies, apple products, and more.  She answered my questions along with fan questions that were sent to mailbag@unyieldinggeekery.com.  You can download the interview or listen to it after the break! The Game That Should Be On Wii U: Silent Scope

Silent Scope has always been one of my favorite arcade games.  The imagination of a shooter game while having a sniper gun attached with a screen within the scope was amazing.  There was a version of this game released on the original Xbox with a gun controller, but it was a bust.  The controller couldn’t bring the same feeling as the arcade.  With the Wii U controller having a screen in it, I feel like this is the opportune time to bring it back.
