Theatrhythm Final Fantasy

Another Square Enix game announced. Let me rephrase that, another Final Fantasy Square Enix hand held console game announced. With the theme being about rhythm? What? Yes, a game which will get you back into the golden days of Dance Dance Revolution but not the golden days of Final Fantasy. Excuse me for a second while I silently weep about the VII remake that is never going to happen. Instead we will get to watch adorable little characters doing very cute things to the beat of popular songs from the series.

For one I will never play this game, it looks as if it was designed for a five year old, oddly enough it’s rated E10+. If you are still interested in purchasing it after watching that clench wrenching sample of the quickly and cheaply developed game head to the official site. There you can pre-order (release date July 3, 2012) Theatrythm for the price of your dignity.

First Impressions of Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir

The other day I posted a quick blurb and teaser trailer for Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir.  Today I got my hands on the game and played for about an hour or so and I have to say…It’s pretty bad ass.  The first thing I feel I need to convey is that this actually is a Fatal Frame game.  Everything I read, including Nintendo’s press site, gave no indication that this was a part of the Fatal Frame franchise.  I should have known it was just by the screen shots and story though.  Along with the release of Spirit Camera was a new trailer (above) showing actual gameplay and AR/Camera interaction. Who Needs Fatal Frame When You Have Spirit Camera

I am a huge fan of the Fatal Frame franchise and while we haven’t seen one officially released in the states lately, this game has me excited.  Tomorrow Nintendo will be releasing Spirit Camera: The Cursed Memoir and it will be EPIC.  The game uses an alternate reality (AR) notebook which interacts with the 3DS’s camera giving you a full immersion feeling.  The similarity to Fatal Frame really lies in the fact that you’re taking a picture of ghosts, but Spirit Camera may not be as scary.  I am really excited for this game because I’m a huge horror fan and I’ve been looking for a new game to give me that chilling creep factor. Enjoy the trailer above and go check out this game!
