Yesterday, Microsoft held a press conference and preview event for Windows Phone 8 and dropped a pretty big bomb. With a whole lot of new features, the key feature everyone is talking about is that it will not work with current Windows phones. While current Windows phone owners will get a 7.8 upgrade with a few of the enhancements, it only covers about a third of them. Chris and I had a mini twitter debate on this and we will definitely cover it during the podcast this weekend. This is a pretty big deal and I’ll discuss my thoughts after the break. Continue reading

Episode 11.5: Talking With Misti Dawn
I just had a wonderful conversation/interview with the spectacular Misti Dawn. If you don’t know her, she is one of the most scandalinfamous geek/gamers you will ever know. We had a wonderful time discussing games, zombies, apple products, and more. She answered my questions along with fan questions that were sent to mailbag@unyieldinggeekery.com. You can download the interview or listen to it after the break! Continue reading
Apple Announces iOS6
Yesterday, Apple kicked off their annual WWDC conference in San Francisco. They had a lot to reveal, but one of the things that affects most people is the details surrounding iOS6. They have made a lot of changes including kicking Google Maps to the curb. Get all the details after the break. Continue reading
Macbooks Purchased Between 2009-2011 Have an Issue
This past week I encountered an issue with my 13″ Macbook. The rubber bottom started to peel away from the rest of the computer. After some google searching I found out this was a widespread issue! Apple knows of this problem and has a solution for those effected by this. You can either take it to an Apple store to be fixed for free or do it yourself. I opted to do it myself. I got my kit today (for free) and the instructions are fairly simple, but I haven’t done it yet due to laziness. However, if you have a Macbook created/purchased between 2009 and 2011 this can solve your problem. Just visit Apple’s support website here. This will allow you to do order a kit to do it on your own or direct you to an Apple store.
50 Portal Gun Replica Units Will Go On Sale Midnight EST *UPDATED*
You may remember we mentioned the Portal Gun Replica back in Episode 4 of the podcast. Well, today is a busy day for these wonderful scientific testing devices. ThinkGeek sold a whole bunch of these today, but they sold out in half an hour. I was fortunate enough to get one, but so many people did not. NECA Toys limited these to only 5000 in the entire world. Well, it’s looking like the last of these are going on sale tonight (5/4 into 5/5) at Midnight EST through NECA’s website. They are only going to have 50 and the demand is rather huge so if you want one, you’d better be frantically refreshing the page. When the time comes you can order here at Midnight Eastern. Now, I need something to attach my GladOs potato to the gun.
*Update* They’re all gone now. Hope you got one!
*Update 2* 50 more go one sale tonight/tomorrow at midnight. 5/7 midnight or 5/8 12:00am.
